WTF adds 6 All-SCIAC performances on final day of SCIACs

REDLANDS, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's track and field team added six All-SCIAC performances on the final day of the 2018 SCIAC Track and Field Championships.

Catalina Lee Kim led the way for La Verne finishing on the podium twice on day two of the meet. The senior broke her own school record in the 100m hurdles to finish second with a time of 14.34. She added another second-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 37-05.00.

Also earning a second-place finish was sprinter Jade Griffin. The sophomore took second in the 400m, clocking in at a personal best and seventh-best time in program history at 58.56. Griffin also took ninth in the 200m at 26.40.

Melissa Cerrillos took third in the 800m finishing with a time of 2:18.32. It was Cerrillos second All-SCIAC performance in the meet after taking second in the steeplechase on day one.

Ebony Turner took second in the high jump in one of the tightest competitions of the meet. Turner and Vanessa Blanchard of Redlands each cleared 1.62 (5-03.75) and scratched at 1.67. Blanchard cleared 5-03.75 in fewer attempts to take the title.

Cambria Serrano led La Verne in the throws. The junior took third in the javelin, finishing with a throw of 110-08.

The Leopards finished the meet in a tie for fourth place with Pomona-Pitzer. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the team title.
