
LA MIRADA, CA — The University of La Verne women's track and field team notched four wins Saturday afternoon in a dual meet at NCAA Division II Biola.
Team Scores: Biola 87, La Verne 33
The Leopards excelled in the distance events, winning both the 600m and 1000m runs. In the 600m, senior Melissa Cerrillos took first with a time of 1:38.07.
Fellow senior Rachael Dela Cruz crossed first in the 1000m run with a winning time of 3:03.45.
In the high jump, Elizabeth Prevedello added a win with a final height of 1.56m. Prevedello also took second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.42.
Bella Lincon added a win for the Leopards in the throw with a mark of 8.91m. She also took second in the discus with a throw of 30.56m.
Micaela Krumweide took second in the triple jump with a leap of 9.69m and third in the long jump at 4.83m.
Next Meet
The Leopards will compete down the road on Saturday, February 23 at the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Rossi Relays.
