LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne women's track and field team boasted four individual wins on Saturday at SCIAC Multi-Dual No. 2 held at Ortmayer Stadium.

Top Performances

Rachael Dela Cruz took first in the 1500m run with a personal best time of 4:48.22. The time puts the senior in the top-50 in DIII.

Melissa Cerrillos added a win for the Leopards in the 3000m steeplechase. The two-time SCIAC Champion in the event posted a time of 11:14.05 the fourth best time in the nation.

Ebony Turner looked solid in the high jump finishing with a final height of 1.60m (5-3). The senior, who ranks third all-time in the Leopards' record book, is currently ranked 14th nationally and looks on pace to beat her personal record of 5-5.

Elizabeth Prevedello took first in the long jump, with a personal best distance of 5.67m (18-7.25) in her final leap of the day. The junior, who recently broke La Verne's record in the heptathlon, is now ranked third nationally in the long jump.

Teammate Micaela Krumweide took third in the long jump at 5.33m (17-6), a personal record leap that places her 42nd in DIII. Krumweide also took tied for second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.23m (36-10.25).

Jade Griffin added two personal bests on Saturday. The junior took third in the 200m dash with a time of 25.59, the 16th best time in the nation. She also took fourth in the 100m dash in an extremely fast heat. Her time of 12.39 puts her at 23rd in DIII.

The Leopards 4x400m relay team nearly added a win, finishing second with a time of 4:03.00, a hundredth of a second behind winner Pomona-Pitzer. The marks put the Leopards at 16th nationally.
