Leopards Perform Well In Preparation For SCIAC # 3

Pomona, California - The University of La Verne track and field teams put together a weekend of solid performances, as they are gearing up for the SCIAC #3 this upcoming weekend. Many leopards set individual personal records throughout various competitions. Two Leopards set personal records in the 5000m as Alexia Alvarez finished with a time of 22:23.12 and Andrea Camacho finished with a time of 20:46.37 in the 5000m. Mira Juncaj recorded 1.55m in the High Jump.  Hailee Kessler set personal records in the pole vault and the javelin, while Alyssa Martinez set a personal record in the discus and the hammer.  The team is progressing towards being at their best at the SCIAC Championships, which will be held at Whittier College on April 30th-May 1st. Head coach Kevin Reid was very pleased with his team's performance. "Good consistency, mixed in with a few Personal records. I am looking forward to what the next two weeks look like." This week several Leopards will be competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Wednesday through Friday at Azusa Pacific University, and the whole entire team will be in action at SCIAC #3 which will also be the final home meet of the season. SCIAC #3 will take place at Ortmeyer Stadium April 16th. The meet will start at 11:00 am.
