University of La Verne Athletics announced today that head volleyball coach Marlon Sano has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately. A national search will be conducted to identify a new volleyball coach in the coming weeks.

"It is our intent to identify the best candidate pool from across the nation from which to select the next head coach to lead our volleyball program toward the future," said Director of Athletics Julie Kline.

The Leopard program has won a total of 22 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championships including nine consecutive league titles from 2000 to 2008.
