
The University of La Verne completed a 2-0 weekend by earning a 3-1 decision over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in SCIAC volleyball action Saturday at Ducey Gymnasium in Claremont.
Set scores were 25-17, 25-23, 13-25 and 25-19.
Outside hitter Randi Taylor-Toomay capped off a strong week with a match-high 25 kills to pace the Leopard attack. Senior middle blocker Kayla Cribbs chipped in with 6 kills while Catie Logan added 4 terminations. Setter Kendall Kraiss posted 28 assists. Defensively, Morgan Donahue led the Leopards with 19 digs.
The Leopards improved to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play while the Athenas dropped to 10-3 and 3-2, respectively.
La Verne returns home to take on conference leader Chapman (10-3, 4-0 SCIAC) Tuesday night at Frantz Athletic Court. Start time is 7:30 pm.
