REDLANDS- The University of La Verne volleyball squad defeated conference foe University of Redlands Friday evening in four sets.
The Leopards took the first two sets 25-21, 28-26 before a 25-13 defeat in the third, but rallied with 25-16 decision in the fourth to seal the match.
La Verne (5-12, 2-4 SCIAC) accumulated a .196 hitting percentage on the night while Redlands (5-7, 2-3 SCIAC) hit .205.
Outside hitter Brittany Yaxley put on an offensive clinic with 25 kills and a .254 hitting percentage. Yaxley made it a double-double night eacking up 10 digs, second on the team behind libero Anna Suarez and her 23. Meanwhile, outside hitters Ashlyn Cross and Nysa Allen had 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
The Leopards will play host to Chapman Saturday at the La Verne Athletics Pavilion. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
