CLAREMONT- The University of La Verne volleyball team endured a four-set loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Saturday evening.

The Leopards (5-21, 2-9 SCIAC) gave up two sets to the Athenas (20-3, 8-3 SCIAC) before a big 25-14 win in the third. A fourth-set comeback ended the match. 

The Leo attack centered around sophomore outside hitter Brittany Yaxley with nine kills. Freshman setter Tiffany Mancuso and senior setter Morgan Donohue had 13 assists apiece while junior libero Anna Suarez recorded 17 digs. Freshman middle blocker Kelsi Robinson and junior outside hitter Nysa Allen each had four blocks. 

La Verne is set to host Redlands Tuesday evening. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
