Yaxley tabbed AVCA All-West Region

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Brittany Yaxley of the University of La Verne volleyball team was named to the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-West Region Team on Thursday. This is Yaxley's second All-Region award after getting the nod last year.

Yaxley has been one of the best players in the country ever since she stepped on campus in 2012 and this season was no different. The senior from nearby Glendora recorded 339 kills, knocked down 54 service aces and averaged a career-high 2.83 digs per set as she led the Leopards to a 20-8 overall record and 13-3 in the SCIAC.

She also led the SCIAC in kills (207), service aces (29) and total points (250.5) in conference play.

She also cemented her status as one of the best players in La Verne history when she broke the program's all-time kills record at Pomona-Pitzer on Oct. 27 and the all-time aces record against Simpson on Oct. 30. She finishes her career with 1,487 kills and 168 service aces.
