LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kelsi Robinson of the University of La Verne volleyball team was named to the 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Third Team All-America.

This is Robinson's second All-America nod. She was tabbed an Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2014.

Robinson, the 2016 SCIAC Volleyball Athlete of the Year, enjoyed the best season of her career and cemeted herself one of the best middle blockers in the nation. She registered 3.2 kills per set on a staggering .360 hitting and averaged nearly one total block per set. She also put down 35 service aces for a good measure. Robinson accounted for over 23 percent of the Leopards' total points production, underscoring her impact on the team.

And the Lakewood native didn't suffer any dropoff in production against some of the best teams in the nation. Against nationally-ranked opponents, Robinson recorded 3.1 kills per set on .316 hitting and averaged 0.84 total blocks per set. She took on an even bigger share of La Verne's offensive production against ranked opponents, accounting for just over a quarter of La Verne's total attacking points (25.71 percent).

Robinson was instrumental in leading the 19th-ranked Leopards to the NCAA Championship tournament, where they fell, 3-2, to No. 7 Southwestern (Texas) in the first round. Robinson played like one of the best players in the country, putting away a match-high 20 kills on .333 hitting and recording eight blocks.

She graduates with a degree in Political Science.
