LOS ANGELES, CA — The University of La Verne volleyball team dropped a road game to the Occidental College Tigers Friday night.

Set Scores: 25-20, 24-26, 25-17, 25-19

Season Impact: The Leopards move to 17-8 overall and 10-5 in SCIAC play. Occidental moves to 13-7 overall and 8-7 in the conference.

Alexia Balistreri finished with a game-high 14 kills to go with three blocks. Katelyn Winiecki and Marisa Rojo each added 11 kills. Winiecki added four blocks.

After dropping the first set, the Leopards responded in the second to even the game a 1-1.

But the Leopards couldn't connect in the final two sets, dropping the match.

Madison Maynes finished with 20 assists and Natalie Barragan added 15. 

Kristen Sanchez finished with 21 digs and two aces. Kiana Valdivieso added four aces. 

Kelsie Sievers totaled four blocks.

Next Up: The Leopards host the Whittier College Poets tomorrow at 2 p.m. in The Tents. La Verne will honors seniors Alexia Balistreri and Marisa Rojo in a brief pregame ceremony.
