
LA VERNE, CA — Haley Celaya led all players with 13 kills, Madison Maynes dished out 37 assists, and the University of La Verne Leopards dominated one of the top teams in the nation, sweeping the Pacific Lutheran Lutes Friday night.
Season Impact
The Leopards pick up their first win of the season against a ranked opponent and improve to 4-5 overall. Pacific Lutheran falls to 7-3.

Stat Leaders
Along with her 13 kills, Celaya added five digs, two aces, one block, and one assist. Pi'ikea Clemens totaled nine kills, 13 digs, and an ace.
Ayana Mier and Rylee Callen each put down seven kills. Callen added a pair of blocks and three digs.
Maynes added an ace, three digs, and a block to her 37 assists. Emma Estigoy led La Verne with 15 digs. The junior also finished with two aces.
Darrah Jones hitt .333 with five kills.
Danielle Skibiel led the Lutes with nine kills.
By the Numbers
The Leopards allowed just seven kills in the opening frame compared to 15 of their own.
La Verne improved its attack in each set hitting .128, .229, and .333 in the final set.
