
Redlands, CA – The University of La Verne women's volleyball team took to the road for SCIAC action against the Redlands Bulldogs. Having already clinched a spot in the post-season, the Leopards were looking to sweep the regular season series against the Bulldogs.
The Leopards started out the first set focused, as they jumped ahead early, leading the Bulldogs 6-2. After a slight rally by Redlands, the score was narrowed to 7-5. The Leopards then took control of the set as they won 25-12.
The second set would see La Verne jump to an early 6-2 lead before a Redlands run narrowed the score to 8-7 in favor of La Verne. In fashion similar to the first set, the Leopards stifled the rally to finish the set with a 25-16 victory.
The Leopards began the third set taking an early 8-1 lead before the Bulldogs would score three straight to make the set 8-4. La Verne would again lock-in and cruise to a 25-14 victory to sweep the match on the road.
Freshman Mya Ray led La Verne with 10 kills in the game and had 6 service aces. Madison Smith added 15 digs in the victory.
The Leopards return home for senior night on October 29th against Cal Lutheran. The match starts at 7:00 PM.
