Leopards Suffer SCIAC Defeat to Athenas

The University of La Verne women's water polo squad would suffer a 13-2 defeat at the hands of a potent Claremont-Mudd-Scripps offense in conference action Saturday morning at the La Verne Aquatic Center.

CMS was anchored by a five-goal first quarter that would help propel the Athenas to a comfortable win over the Leopards.

Newly minted swimming All-American Maddie Lovrensky returned to the pool for La Verne after having competed at last weekend's NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships to contribute a goal for the La Verne squad.  Ryanne Bible also struck the back of the net for the Leopards.

Leopard goalkeeper Lauren Shepard captured four saves on the day.

La Verne (9-17, 0-3 SCIAC) continues SCIAC action against Chapman Wednesday beginning at 5:00 pm.
