Women's Water Polo routs Penn State Behrend

LA VERNE, Calif. — Thirteen different players got on the board for the University of La Verne women's water polo team as the Leopards beat Penn State Behrend, 18-4, on Monday at La Verne Aquatics Center.

La Verne improves to 7-2 while Penn State Behrend falls to 0-5.

Catie Tuning, Katie Stelnicki, Megan Little, Emily Randall and Teresa Zuniga each scored two goals for La Verne. Eight other players scored a goal apiece.

It was never close. The Leopards used hockey-style line changes for most of the game and spread the offensive wealth around as no player scored more than one goal in any quarter.

The Leopards scored the game's first three goals and started the game on a 6-1 run.

La Verne also played a clean game defensively, only getting called for one exclusion. On the other end of the pool, the Leopards drew seven power play opportunities.

The Leopards start SCIAC action on Wednesday at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
