COMMERCE, CA — Guarina Garcia scored four times but it wasn't enough as the University of La Verne women's water polo team fell to the Brown Bears at the Brenda Villa Aquatic Center Thursday night.

Garcia's four goals led the Leopards and tied a game-high. The Puerto Rico native also led La Verne with two steals.
Jassmine Kezman scored twice and Christine Castrellon, Taylor Puno, and Ilene Guerrero each added one goal.
Victoria Mezack added one steal and one assist. Emilie Eastman, Catrellon, and Guerrero each totaled one steal.
Brown was led by Katie Klein's four goals.
Season Impact
The Leopards fall to 6-11 overall and the Bears improve to 15-7.
Next Game
The Leopards are back in action on Saturday in an important 11 a.m. home game against Redlands. The Leopards currently sit in the four-spot in the SCIAC standings, a half-game in front of the Bulldogs. Redlands edged La Verne 10-8 earlier this season.
