
NEW ORLEANS — The University of La Verne women's cross country team has earned All-Academic distinction the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association announced.
In order to be considered, a team must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10. The Leopards boast a 3.25 team GPA.
The USTFCCCA recognized a total of 393 teams included 215 women's squads.
All-SCIAC senior Rachael Dela Cruz earned All-Academic individual recognition as well for her work in the classroom and on the course. To be eligible for individual consideration, athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
A total of 682 student-athletes earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors including 382 women.
