Wire-to-Wire Win for Kingsmen Water Polo Against La Verne

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Cal Lutheran men's water polo took care of business at home on Saturday morning and defeated the La Verne Leopards 19-15. The Kingsmen improved to 3-2 in conference and 8-12 overall.

Cal Lutheran came out on fire in the first quarter, outscoring the Leopards 8-2. Four Kingsmen scored in the opening frame as the offense was rolling. Cal Lutheran continued to dominate La Verne in the second quarter and took a 13-5 lead into the break. Cal Lutheran never looked back and coasted the rest of the way, picking up a convincing win.

The offense was clicking on all cylinders as eleven Kingsmen scored a goal. Ben Brown had the most with four and Taylor Garcia, Dillon Goldsmith, Lincoln Hall, Luke Matthies and Jack Bradbury had two each. Brown dished out five assists and Aidan Allamian added four more. Goldsmith recorded four drawn ejections. 

Bo DuBois was in the cage and made seven saves with two steals. Garcia, Goldsmith and Brown had three steals each.

Cal Lutheran continues the season on the road and will travel to Occidental on Wednesday for a game at 7 p.m.
