Seniors Lead Regals Past La Verne on Senior Day

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — It was only fitting, that on Senior Day, the seniors for Cal Lutheran women's soccer would lead the way. Sam Cornejo, Danielle Vis and Emily Williams all scored as the Regals took down La Verne 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The senior/graduating class was honored before the game. The senior for Regals soccer include Cate Boller, Cornejo, Kylie Garcia, Janelle Gutierrez, Aly Legrand, Izzy Martinez, Darya Rasoli, Isabella Veljacic, Vis, Katie Weaver and Williams.

The Regals got on the board immediately as Cornejo scored in the fourth minute with the assist from Vis. 

Cal Lutheran added their next two goals in the second half. Vis scored in the 52nd minute with the assist from Brynn McMahon and Williams scored in the 90th with Avery West getting the assist. 

Logan Duford was in goal and got the shutout as she made five saves. The Regals' defense recorded their sixth shutout and second straight. 

Cal Lutheran has five games left in the regular season and improved to 5-1-1 in conference and 8-4-1 overall. Up next, the Regals are at Occidental on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
