Shelby Garcia earned three wins in the cage during an outstanding week for the University of La Verne women's water polo team. Garcia's most impactful performance came in a 10-9 sudden-death overtime win against Villanova. Garcia racked up a career-high 15 saves to go with a steal and allowed just one goal in the first half. Earlier in the week Garica grabbed seven saves and allowed just six goals as the Leopards beat Redlands 10-6 in their SCIAC opener. In a close 10-9 loss to St. Francis (PA) Garcia totaled 12 saves. The senior finished the week with 40 saves, two steals, and even added a goal in a 17-4 win over Penn State-Behrend.
