Winter Invite, Day 3
The La Verne Leopards finished with record breaking speed on last day of the 2013 Winter Invite.
Junior Maddie Lovrensky won the 200 backstroke with an NCAA B qualifying time of 2:05.42.  She no more got out of the pool before she had to dive right back in for the very next event - just missing setting yet another the varsity record going 54.34 in the 100 yard free to finish 7th.
Great numbers were also posted by Junior Jackie Rojas, who continued her record breaking assult in the breastroke going 2:32.15 - over a second faster than the existing record.  Additionally, senior Sammi Shiomoto finished 4ththe 200 fly in a seasons best 2:13.40

The women's 400 freestyle relay Melanie Consiglio, Sammi Shiomoto Melissa Pryor and Maddie Lovrensky capped off their weekend in the programs 2nd time ever at 3:43.12 for a 6th place finish.

Over on the men's side, Coleman Goode finaled in the men's 200 backstroke  with a season best 1:57.68 to finish 4th overall; with freshman Daniel Carpenter setting the varsity record in the 100 freestyle with a blistering 47.09 to finish 5th.

Making the NCAA B cut with his performance, senior Marc Okimura finished 3rd in the men's 200 breaststroke  in a time of 2:06.69 to finish 3rd overall.  Showing some speed of his own, soph0more Felipe Avendano Villa finished 5th in a  seasons best 2:01.63.

Rounding out the day, the men's 400 freestyle relay of Daniel Carpenter, Coleman Goode, Marc Okimura and Devon Photias went 3:13.83 to finish in 4th place.
