La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne hosted the Occidental Tigers at Las Flores Park for a midweek SCIAC water polo match. 

As the contest started, both teams came out the gate firing on all cylinders. Both teams would trade points in the opening minutes as Leopard Alam Chang would lead the charge scoring three goals in the first period of play. James Cano would add another goal as La Verne ended the first period of play trailing 6-4.

The Leopards would score three more goals in the second period with Gage Unsoeld scoring two of the three Leopard points. La Verne would enter halftime trailing by a score of 13-7.

Gage Unsoeld would score three goals in the third quarter as the Leopards cut into the deficit, and deadlocked the scoring for the quarter with five goals scored and five goals allowed.

The Leopards would rally in the fourth quarter, only allowing four goals to be scored by Occidental, but time would catch La Verne as they would fall by a final score of 22-16.

Alam Chang led La Verne with seven goals scored in the match.

La Verne is back in action at home Saturday against Biola. The match starts at 11:00 AM.
