Leopards Have A Great Weekend On The Road

Point Loma, Caliornia - With the distance group taking the weekend off after setting the University of La Verne record books on fire last week, it was time for the sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, and throwers to continue the task of re-writing the Leopard record books.

The University of La Verne Track and field Women posted no less than seven personal best or seasonal best performances. Freshman Alyssa Martinez made her ULV debut in three of the four throwing events posting personal records in the Shot Put, Discus and Javelin. Senior Devin Spreeman pole vaulted a season's best of 2.90m, just missing her personal best of 2.92m. Senior Vera Juncaj posted a personal best time of 17.50 in the 100m Hurdles along with solid marks in the High Jump and Long Jump, as she prepares for her specialty this week in the Heptathlon.

The Leopards will be back on the track in full force this coming week, with the Sam Adams-Jim Klein Combined Events at Westmont College (Santa Barbara) on Th/Fri March 24-25, and the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational (San Diego) on Saturday, March 26.
