Pomona, CA - The University of La Verne football team traveled to Pomona-Pitzer for a Saturday night SCIAC matchup with the Sagehens. The Sagehens entered the game undefeated in conference play and the Leopards came in seeking their first conference win of the season.

The Sagehens scored the first two touchdowns of the game but the Leopards would then find the endzone when Jacob Fimbres rushed for a one-yard touchdown to make the game 14-7 after the extra point kicked by Kapena Kamakawi. Throughout the first half of play, the Leopards would move the ball down the field several times but were unable to convert the drives into points on the board. The Leopards entered halftime trailing by a score of 35-7.

Late in the fourth quarter, LA Verne was able to drive 53 yards down the field but was unable to score as time caught the Leopards, falling to the Sagehens by a final score of 56-7.

Eudene Corletto led the Leopards with 28 yards rushing and Mathew Brown had 39 yards receiving on 2 receptions. Micah Williams had 68 yards returning the ball on three kickoffs for the Leopards. Chase Yanez had 14 tackles for the Leopards on the defensive side of the ball.

The Leopards return home for homecoming on October 15th taking on Whittier. The game starts at 5:00 PM.
