LA VERNE, Calif. — Due to anticipated rain on Saturday evening, game times for the University of La Verne softball team's doubleheader against Whittier on Saturday has been moved up to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The games were originally scheduled for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Scheduled as Playing for Heroes series, the doubleheader is co-sponsored by the La Verne and Whittier softball teams to raise awareness of and to honor the nation's wounded veterans. The Leopards and the Poets are teaming up to raise money via t-shirt and wristband sales, softball bingo and more. All donations will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
A brief pregame ceremony will take place approximately 15 minutes before the first pitch.
