LA VERNE, CA — The Leopards played tight with Puget Sound for most of the game but to key runs by the Loggers were enough to hold off the Leopards and hand the University of La Verne men's basketball team a XX-XX loss.
After staying tight for most of the opening half, the Loggers went on a 15-0 run capped by a Donovan Wilson three-pointer to take a 26-16 lead with 7:15 left in the period. The Leopards responded with a 7-0 run of their own highlighted by back-to-back layups by Segun Oyeku and Sinai Enoch.
The Loggers capitalized off La Verne turnovers in the first half, turning 14 Leopard giveaways into 12 points.
Trailing 45-32 in early in the second half, Enoch came through with back-to-back three-pointers to cut the Loggers' lead to seven. But Puget Sound responded with a 15-2 run to take a 19 point lead with seven anda half minutes left in the half, taking control for good.
Season Impact
The Leopards move to 0-7 overall and the Loggers improve to 5-3.

The Leopards continue nonconference action on Wednesday, December 18 when they host Elmhurst at 2 p.m.
