First-Half Dominance for the Leopards

LA VERNE, CA- Early morning for the University of La Verne women's soccer team. The high temps of the weekend heatwave couldn't stop the Leos, as they won their second official season game against the Lewis & Clark Pioneers - final score 2-0.

La Verne's heavy action dominated the scoreboard in the first half. With an assist from Ana Preciado, Sophomore Reagan Appleby scored the first goal of the game. A variety of players contributed to the goal-scoring efforts, with 9 players having an attempt at the net. Sarah Ramirez, with 2 attempts, scored the second goal by La Verne, providing a cushion for a comfortable halftime score. Ramirez was assisted by midfielder Alyssa Marquez.

"I'm looking forward to more success and more wins with all my best friends," said Ramirez. "This really feels like our year and I'm thankful to be a part of this group."

The Leos' next matchup is at home this Monday at 9am, against Carleton
