Leopards Finish In Second At CLU Kingsman & Regals Invitational

Thousand Oaks, CA - The University of La Verne men's golf team traveled to Thousand Oaks, California to compete in the CLU Kingsman & Regals Invitational. THe tournament was an opportunity for the Leopards to make more strides toward their goal of a SCIAC Conference championship.\

Competing in a field of 11 teams, the Leopards finished second place in the two-day tournament. The team shot +15 for 36 holes. The Leopards finished atop the other SCIAC teams competing in the tournament field. Three Leopards finished in the top 10. Jason Bustos lead the pack with a total score of 144 (even par) finishing in 5th place. Michael Ordona shot a +3 that guaranteed him an 8th place and Kyle Hazlett scored +4 locking the 10th place finish. Shreyas Kumaresh finished T21 with a score of 153 and Connor Askey shot a 156. Collectively, the team's total effort contributed to the total team score. Head coach Nathalie da Silva was very pleased with her team's performance. "The course was playing tough and our Leos showed a lot of grit. We never gave up and we were very close to bringing the W home. This tournament give us momentum for SCIAC 2 on April 1st- we are excited and ready!"

SCIAC #2 takes place April 1st at Claremont-M-S.
