Leopards Bounce Back In SCIAC #2
Claremont, CA - The University of La Verne men's golf team competed in SCIAC #2 in Claremont, California.

The Leopards entered the tournament seeking to build momentum as the SCIAC Championships approach. The SCIAC #2 was the second conference event for the Leopards this season. The first day of the tournament would see the Leopards 14 over par behind five other schools. The second day of the tournament would see the Leopards play at an elite level, as they were able to shoot 4 over par for a total of +18.
Leopard Michael Ordona shot the lowest score in the tournament, taking first place. Jason Bustos totaled 3 over par to finish in the top 10. Kyle Hazlett improved his score on the second round for a total of 9 over, while Connor Askey and Shreyas Kumaresh also helped the team move from 6th place to a 4th place finish.

Head coach Nathalie da Silva was very pleased with her team's effort and performance in the SCIAC #2. "We gave our heart out there, we fought until the last putt rolled in. I am definitely proud of my squad and excited for the championship in the end of the month. We will get there ready to show our work. We appreciate all the family and friends that showed up to support us, that course isn't easy to walk and seeing all the parents and friends there to cheer us up gave us the boost we needed on the second round. They are an important piece of our golf program."

The SCIAC Championships will take place April 23-25 at Cal Lutheran.
