Swim and Dive Closes Regular Season

REDLANDS, CA — The University of La Verne men's and women's swim and dive teams competed in their final dual meet of the season, falling to Redlands and Occidental.

Jessica Argelander and Lorenzo De Leon each added wins for the Leopards. Argelander touched first in the 100-yard freestyle, outpacing the competition with a time of 54.02. The senior also added a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.67.

De Leon posted a win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.05. Brian McAteer finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke, coming in at 1:01.98.

Trevor Ichiki added a pair of third-place finishes for La Verne. The sophomore clocked in at 10:37.57 in the 1000-yard freestyle and finished a 5:05.55 in the 500-yard freestyle.

Next Meet

The Leopards will compete next in the SCIAC Championships. The diving portion of the competition will take place from February 15-16 hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on the campus of Claremont-McKenna. The swimming competition will run from February 20-23 at the Brenda Villa Aquatic Center in Commerce, CA.
