The SCIAC's highest scoring team lived up to its billing Thursday night as the University La Verne women's basketball squad rolled to a 105-45 home triumph over Caltech in conference action at Frantz Athletic Court.

La Verne eclipsed the 100-point barrier for the fifth time this season and has reached at least 90 points in 10 of its last 11 contests.  Thriough 15 games, the Leopards are averaging 82.4 points per outing.

The Leopards continued their consistency from behind the arc as they connected on 18 three-pointers for the game, including 13 first-half treys on its way to a 62-21 haftime lead over the Beavers.

Leading 19-12 midway through the first half, La Verne would break away from the Beavers by proceeding on a 34-3 scoring run in a six-minute span to seize a 53-15 cushion. 

Lindsey Foster led the Leos in scoring by collecting 20 points in just nine minutes of action as she finished 8-10 from the floor.  Megan Musashi tallied five three-pointers to total 19 points on the evening.   Emily Myers, Brittni Tapia and Leslie Steele recorded 9 points each. 

Stephanie Wong, the SCIAC's fifth-leading scorer, paced the Beavers with a team-high 16 points on the night.

With the win, the Leopards moved into sole possession of second place in the conference standings as they improved to 9-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

The Leos resume league action on the road this Saturday as it battles Pomona-Pitzer in a 5:00 pm tip-off.
