Leopard water polo squad settles for road loss at Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS- The University of La Verne men's water polo squad lost a 17-13 decision with conference foe Cal Lutheran University Wednesday.

The Leopards faced a 4-1 deficit after one quarter, but battled back to take a 6-5 lead midway through the second. The Kingsmen recaptured the lead before the halfway mark and held at least a two-goal advantage for the reminder of the match. 

Sophomore driver Matthew Vega led the Leo attack with four goals while junior center Tyler Hunt netted three. Junior goalie Daniel Newell recorded seven saves.

La Verne will return to action Saturday for their final conference match against Redlands University. Start time is 11 a.m. at Las Flores Park.
