Women's Golf Opens SCIAC Play

SAN DIMAS, CA — The University of La Verne women's golf team opened SCIAC play Friday and Saturday at SCIAC No. 1.

Alexandra Hauck led the Leopards with a final card of 186. The sophmore improved by two strokes on the second day of competition.

Cristina Liu made her SCIAC debut and finished one stroke behind Hauck. The Mt. SAC transfer shot a 95 in round one and improved to a 92 on day two with a 92 to finish at 187.

Alexi Gonzalez finished with a score of 193 and made a one-stroke improvement between rounds. Gonzalez shot a 97 on Friday and carded a 96 in the second round.

Carly Nicholson shot a 198 and Tina Chaw finished with a 229.

The Leopards finished in eighth place with a team score of 764. 

The Redlands Bulldogs finished first with a team score of 596 and Redlands' Hannah Jugar finished first individually with a score of 138.

SCIAC competition is comprised of seven rounds, two at SCIAC No. 1, two at SCIAC No. 2, and the final three at the SCIAC Championships.

Next Round

The Leopards compete next on March 16 and 17 CLU Regals Classic at Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA.
