LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne women's soccer team has earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches the organization announced.

The Leopards posted a team GPA of 3.57 during the 2019-20 academic year. The United Soccer Coaches recognized a total of 924 soccer teams for their academic success.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.

The Leopards were led by Hanien Samara who was tabbed as one of the SCIAC's Scholar-Athletes of the Year for posting a 3.95 cumulative GPA. In total, twenty members of the La Verne women's soccer team were named to the 2019-20 SCIAC All-Academic team.
