THOUSAND OAKS- The University of La Verne volleyball squad suffered a loss Tuesday, falling 3-0 to No. 4 Cal Lutheran University. 

The Leopards (5-18, 2-6 SCIAC) kept things close in the early going against the conference-leading Regals (18-1, 8-0), losing the first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-22 before a 25-18 decision to end the match. La Verne led for portions of each set, but were undone by a .099 hitting percentage on the night. 

Sophomore outside hitter Brittany Yaxley led the Leo offense with 14 kills. Senior setter Morgan Donohue chipped in 29 assists and sophomore outside hitter Ashlyn Cross tallied 13 digs.

La Verne will break for a week before next Tuesday's league match-up at Pomona-Pitzer. Game-time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
