The University of La Verne was well represented on the 2011 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Team as five members of the Leopard squad earned All-SCIAC honors as announced today by the league office.

The Leopard quartet of Mark Larini, Matt Baudino, Jason Moralez and Jacob Ludvik earned First Team distinction with Nathan Rollon garnering a Second Team selection.

Larini transitioned from utility player to the ace of the Leopard pitching staff in 2011, leading the squad in both innings pitched (83.1) and strikeouts (75) during the regular season while posting a 5-3 record and 3.02 earned run average.  A senior from El Monte, Larini closed the regular season with a win in the Leopards' 1-0 shut out over Cal Lutheran.

A two-time All-SCIAC selection, Baudino tied for the team lead on the La Verne staff in victories with 6 while recording a 3.61 ERA.  The senior lefty from San Dimas also struck out 69 batters in 67.1 innings of work.

A sophomore from Murrieta, Moralez enjoyed a solid campaign in his first full season as the Leopard starting catcher, earning starts in 34 games behind the plate.  He hit .325 on the regular season with 21 RBI and 20 runs scored.  Ludvik was among the conference leaders in batting average, hitting a team best .381 during the regular season.  The junior outfielder from Diamond Bar scored a team high 41 runs while driving in 27 with 14 doubles and 2 homers.

A junior from Glendora, Rollon tied for the team lead in victories with 6 during the regular season.  He posted a 3.61 ERA in 57.0 innings and allowed just 23 earned runs, the fifth-fewest among SCIAC leaders this season.

La Verne concluded the regular season with a 25-14 record, finishing second in the SCIAC standings with a 20-8 league mark.
