PASADENA — Joshua Francis of the University of La Verne men's track and field team was named the SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week as voted by the conference's sports information directors.
Francis won four events to lead the Leopards dual meet wins over Whittier and Redlands on Saturday. Francis posted the second fastest NCAA Division III mark this season and a personal record time of 21.46 seconds to claim the 200 meters and won the 400 meters at 49.10.
Francis was also a part of two winning relay teams. The 4x100m posted a winning time of 40.91, the fastest in Division III so far this season, and Francis anchored the 4x400 to a winning time of 3:23.45.
The Leopards are back in action on Saturday at Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
