The University of La Verne volleyball team won all four of its matches at the Cal-Lu-fornia Invitational Tournament in Thousand Oaks, closing with a pair of wins Saturday against two Northwest Conference schools.
The Leopards opened Saturday action with a 3-0 sweep over Whitman by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-10. In its fourth and final match of the weekend, the Leopards topped 16th ranked Pacific Lutheran in five sets, 18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 22-25 and 15-7.
La Verne commenced tournament play on Friday with a sweep of Letourneau (TX) 25-19, 25-16 and 25-9. Against Augustana (IL), the Leos needed five sets to prevail by scores of 18-25, 25-9, 18-25, 25-11, 17-15.
The Leos move to 5-3 on the season and will make their home debut Friday, Sept. 17 on the opening day of the Leopard Classic Tournament held at Frantz Athletic Court.
