Leopards Defeat Redlands In Road Contest

Redlands, California - The University of La Verne women's water polo team traveled to the University of Redlands for an evening contest. The Leopards, looking to make their way back to .500 in conference play, controlled today's SCIAC contest from the onset as they jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first period of play. Leading at the beginning of the second period, La Verne scored six goals in the second quarter to take a convincing 10-3 lead into halftime over Redlands. La Verne continued its dominance in the second half of play, scoring five goals in the third and fourth quarters, as they would defeat Redlands by a final score of 15-9. Kate Carlyle controlled the goal, having had ten saves in the game. Dani D'Andrea and Nanea Mattson both had four goals on the day, while Sumi Rudisky added three goals in the game.

The Leopards will play at CalTech Wednesday, April 6th at 7:00 pm.
