La Verne Takes On Pomona-Pitzer In SCIAC Regular Season Finale

Pomona, California - The University of La Verne women's water polo team hit the road today for their final SCIAC conference game of the season at Pomona-Pitzer. The Leopards took on the #1 ranked Sagehens in their home finale, looking to spoil their attempt for an undefeated conference season. Their Leopards sought to take control of the game from the onset but were only able to find the net one time in the first half of play as they entered halftime trailing by a score of 9-1. The Leopards would score seven goals in second-half action, but it would not be enough to overcome the Sagehens attack, as they would fall to Pomona-Pitzer by a final score of 19-8. Jassmine Kezman scored four goals for the Leopards while Nanea Mattson and Dani D'Andrea both contributed two goals apiece. Goalie Kate Carlyle had four saves in the game.

The Leopards finished the season with an overall record of 10-6 and 2-5 in SCIAC play.
