La Verne, CA - The University of La Verne women's water polo team hosted the CalTech Beavers for the first meetup of the season.

The Leopards came in with a fighting record to enter into SCIAC play, as they looked to make a statement win. The Leopards would dominate the Beavers as they would try and make a run late in the fourth quarter, which would fail and ultimately lead to their loss of 14-6.

La Verne would take 14 shots to the Beaver's six. The Leopards would be led offensively by Jassmine Kezman with four goals; Nancy Trinh, Olivia Taylor, and Alexis Ramirez would each score two goals. Kate Carlyle and Katrina Hitchcock would split their time defensively and hold the Beavers to only six scores for the game.

The Leopards will travel to Whittier College for their next matchup on Wednesday, April 5th, at 7. P.M.
