Baseball falls twice, eliminated from SCIAC Tournament

LA VERNE, Calif. — The University of La Verne baseball teams dropped a pair of games Saturday at Ben Hines Field and were eliminated from the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.

The SCIAC Regular Season Co-Champions, who are currently ranked third in the west region, will have to wait and see if they earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

La Verne has 29-14 overall record. 

Game One: No. 12 Redlands 10, La Verne 3 | Game Two: Chapman 10, La Verne 3

Mauricio Guadarrama, Jacob Benson, Nicholas Michaels, and Adam Santa Cruz each finished the day with an RBI.

Michaels totalled three this including a solo shot and double against Chapman. Brandon Vogel added three hits

Christopher Arcos struck out five in his start against Redlands. AJ Jimenez stuck out three Chapman batters.

Game 2: Redlands 13, Chapman 6

Saturday, May 5 
Game 3: Chapman 6, Pomona-Pitzer 0
Game 4: Redlands 10, La Verne 3
Game 5: Chapman 10, La Verne 3

Sunday, May 6 
Game 6: Redlands vs Chapman - 11 a.m. 
Game 7: If necessary - 30 minutes following game 6
