The accolades continue for running back Matthew Biggers, who was named SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week (Oct. 29-Nov. 4) after surpassing the 300-yard rushing barrier this past weekend.
Biggers produced a record-setting performance against No. 8 Cal Lutheran, rushing for a single-game school record of 304 yards while also scoring three touchdowns against the Kingsmen on November 3.
His effort earned him a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week, announced on Tuesday.
In becoming La Verne's first-ever 300-yard rusher, Biggers jumped to fifth among Division III rushing leaders in yards per game at 146.8 per contest as he eclipsed the 1,000 yard barrier on the season.
The 304-yard rushing total ranks as the top single-game performance in the SCIAC this season.
