KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Saul Uribe of the La Verne men's soccer team was named to the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association America (NSCAA) First Team All-West Region.

The award adds the final flourish for the senior's excellent four-year career. Uribe was also named the 2016 SCIAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Year by the league's coaches at the conclusion of the season.

After showing tantalizing flashes of brilliance in his first three years, the Bell Gardens native finally broke through in a big way this season. Uribe, always known for his work rate, found his shooting touch this year and scored a career-high 12 goals—four of them game winners—in 18 matches this season. He scored 10 goals and dished out an assist in SCIAC play.

For his career, Uribe has tallied 30 goals (11 game winners) and seven assists in 77 matches.

Uribe leaves La Verne with three All-SCIAC honors and one Regional honors.
