Okimura Posts Nation's Top Time In 100 Breaststroke

La Verne sophomore Marc Okimura enjoys the nation's fastest time in the 100 breaststroke among Division III competitors as his 58.83 clocking during Saturday's Bulldog Invitational ranks #1 overall in that event.

Okimura made his season debut at the Bulldog Invite in Redlands and posted the top time in the 100 breaststroke in the national rankings listed on collegeswimming.com.  Okimura is also listed in the 100 butterfly, where he ranks #16 nationally after his 54.39 effort in that event. 

Additonally, Okimura along with teammates Dennis Rickerd, Devon Photias and Matt Johnson currently rank #19 in the 200 freestyle relay after the quartet combined for a time of 1:33.65.

On the women's side, freshman Maddie Lovrensky posted three nationally-ranked times in her collegiate debut at Saturday's Bulldog Invite.   She currently ranks #8 in the 100 backstroke with her school record time of 1:01.33 seconds. She is ranks #11 in the 200 back with a personal best 2:14.78 and ranks #20 nationally in the 50 freestyle (25.74).
