The University of La Verne swimming team competed in the Bulldog
Pentathlon on Saturday at Redlands. The Leopards were up against
Redlands, Pomona-Pitzer, Biola, Chapman, Whittier, and SOKA
University. Each swimmer competes in the 100 butterfly, 100
backstroke, 100 breaststroke and the 100 Freestyle. Those four
times are combined and the final event, the 100 individual medley,
is seeded based on cumulative time and raced to determine a total
final time and place.
Marc Okimura finished 5th overall, earning first place in the 100 breaststroke as well as a top ten finish in the 100 butterfly. On the women’s side, Maddie Lovrensky finished 12th overall, earning second place in the 100 backstroke and a top ten finish in the 100 freestyle.
La Verne divers will be competing in the Bulldog Diving
Invitational on Saturday, November 20th. The meet will begin at
10am at Redlands. Next swim meet will be on Wednesday, December 1st
at Caltech. The meet will begin at 10:30am.
