Contreras, Malloy wrap up rookie seasons

BEAUMONT, Calif. — Kirsten Contreras and Morgan Malloy of the University of La Verne women's golf team wrapped up their freshman seasons by shooting an identical score at the 2015 SCIAC Women's Golf Championship Tournament held at Oak Valley Golf Course (par-72) on April 26-28.

Both Contreras and Malloy shot 56-over 272 over three rounds to finish tied for 29th overall.

Malloy carded a score of 88 on the first day and followed it up with rounds of 94 and 90.

Contreras went 93-86-93 over the three rounds.

Both competed as individuals because the women's team—just in its second season—did not have a full lineup but figure to be centerpieces of the team in the future as head coach Chris Davis fleshes out the roster.
