Kasenda, Hauck improve on Day 2 of SCIACs

PASADENA, CA — Katrina Kasenda and Alexandra Hauck both showed improvement as the University of La Verne women's golf team competed in round two of the SCIAC Women's Golf Championships on Friday.

Kasenda shot the low score of the round for La Verne, carding an 87 on day two, improving by eight strokes from yesterday's opener. The freshman birdie on both the third and tenth holes. The Rancho Cucamonga native moves her two day total to 182.

Alexi Gonzalez shot a 91 one on the second day of the tournament. The sophomore leads La Verne individually in a tie for 34th with a score of 175.

Hauck improved by five strokes in the second round, shooting a 95 on day two. Carly Nicholson shot a 99 with birdies on the third and ninth holes. Tina Chaw rounded out the scoring for La Verne with a 109.

The Leopards sit in eighth place with a score of 738.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps leads the tournament with a score of 620 with the Athenas' Annie Hay leading individually with a 146.

The Leopards will conclude the 2018 SCIAC Championships tomorrow morning. Chaw will tee off first for La Verne at 8:04 a.m.
