Leopards Compete In SCIAC #1 In Long Beach, California

Long Beach, CA - The University of La Verne women's golf team traveled to Long Beach, California to take part in SCIAC #1.

The first SCIAC conference event of 2023 afforded the Leopards to hit the links and battle with the best of the conference. The Leopards were last on the course during the fall 2022 season.

True freshman Jordyn Janert finished first overall for La Verne and and 12th overall in the SCIAC #1 event. She finished the event with a 78.

Head coach Trevor Persson was happy to see where his team was and is looking forward to the preparation for the next tournament. "I was nice to get back out onto the course and compete against the other SCIAC schools to see where we are in terms of competition.  Our team was excited to play golf since our last date of competition in October.  The layout of the course was good and the greens were somewhat difficult, but we persevered and pushed through.  The players are all in great spirits and know exactly what we need to do as we prepare for our next tournament at the end of the month."
