The Leopards will be led by the bats of Cameron Slessor and Adam Santa Cruz who lead the SCIAC with .481 and .438 batting averages respectively. Santa Cruz leads the Leopards with 14 hits to go with six RBIs and three doubles. Slessor has totaled 13 hits with one home run, two triples, and two doubles. He and Tanner Siffert lead La Verne with 11 RBIs apiece. Also looking to make an impact will be John Bike who sports a batting average of .370, the fifth-highest in the conference.

La Verne and Cal Lutheran played tight in each of their games this season with all three decided by a single run. The Kingsmen won the opener 4-3 in the 10th inning and the Leopards responded the next day with a 7-6 10-inning win of their own. Cal Lutheran held off a late La Verne rally in the final game of the series to win 9-8.

The winner of the game will move on to face the winner of No. 1 seed Chapman and No. 4 seed Redlands. The losers of both games will face each other in an elimination game.

The 2021 SCIAC Baseball Tournament is double-elimination. Friday games are held at the No.1 and No. 2 seeds. The tournament continues at No. 1 Chapman, for Saturday and Sunday, with the champion earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Although some preselected and preregistered spectators will be allowed to attend, the tournament is not open to the general public. All games will be live-streamed.
